At the bakery, we have hundreds of cookie cutters in all shapes and sizes for all of our baking needs. We have a great way to clean and dry our cutters and want to share it with you!
First, we recommend bubbling them up in hot soapy water with a simple mild dish detergent.
After soaking for a few minutes, just rinse them off. Make sure to completely rinse the soap off of the cutters!
Next, place the wet cutters on an unlined baking sheet and place in a 350 degree oven for approximately 2 minutes. That’s all it takes!
The water droplets will be gone and the cookie cutters will be completely clean. These suckers are going to be HOT out of the oven though, so make sure you allow the cutters to cool before handling them!
Note, this cleaning tip is not meant for plastic cutters or those with rubber “easy grip” handles, as they will definitely melt in your oven.
At Blue Flour, we prefer using stainless steel and copper cookie cutters, since they are more durable. Some of our favorite places to buy cookie cutters are from Fancy Flours (this Flamingo is perfect for summer!) and Copper Gifts (This South Carolina cookie cutter in right up our alley).
Now, you’re cookie cutters are ready to go for the next batch of sugar cookies!
